About Broome Pits

Broome Pits is a very exciting fishing venue with 4 lakes to choose from. Each lake is a former gravel pit. We have some huge fish to catch.

There are 25 acres of water across the 4 lakes with plenty of species on offer, including Carp, Tench, Bream, Roach, Perch and Rudd. Day tickets and 24 hour tickets are available for Broome Pits.

There is a Car Park on site and the post code will take you there (NR35 2PE). There is also layby parking along the Loddon Road to the North of D Pit.

A Pit:

Runs Water/Beginners/Match Lake; Carp up to 20lbs, Tench up to 8lbs, Bream up to 11lbs, Pike up to 27lbs, Roach, Rudd and Perch up to 2lbs

A Pit is fenced all the way around with one access gate next to the car park. There are 15 pegs to fish from.

At just under 2 acres A Pit is a beautiful mature gravel pit that boasts everything for the coarse angler. The margins are lined with overhanging trees, reeds and large Lily beds at one end. Depths vary across the lake from deep margins at one end to a shallower weedy bay at the other end.

B Pit:

Carp up to 40lbs, Tench up to 9 lbs, Bream up to 10lbs, Pike up to 20lbs, Roach, Rudd and Perch up to 2lbs

B Pit and C Pit are fenced all the way around both lakes. There are 4 access gates located around the perimeter. 1 gate is at the bottom of the slope leading from the car park. Another gate is on the south east corner of B Pit. The other 2 gates are located on the north side of the fence; 1 next to D Pit causeway and the other on the heathland. There are 19 pegs to fish from with many of them being double swims.

B Pit is the main Carp lake on the complex and boasts a excellent stock of big Carp up to the 40 pound mark with some stunning Mirrors, Commons and Ghost Carp. Again, the lake is a very mature gravel pit with deep tree lined margins around the perimeter. Depths vary across the lake from 3 ft in the main shallows swim and down to 14ft in the bowl area of the lake. Each swim has a great amount of water, so you don’t feel cramped. Tactics can vary on this lake from big hits of bait out in the central part of the lake to stalking the carp under the rod tips. Be sure to take the surface fishing kit as the B Pit Carp love a dog biscuit!

C Pit:

Carp up to 26lbs, Tench up to 5lbs, Bream up to 10lbs, Pike up to 15lbs, Roach, Rudd and Perch up to 2lbs

There are 14 pegs to fish from.

C Pit is our runs water on the complex and the lake is recommended for beginners and new anglers. C Pit is a lovely mature, kidney shaped lake with a shallow snaggy end and a deeper, wider end close to the causeway between C and B Pit. The lake is stocked with some lovely Mirrors and dark Commons up to the 26lb mark. This is a great alternative for a night’s fishing should B Pit be busy when you arrive. Again, the Carp in C pit love a dog biscuit and surface fishing on a late summers evening can be a great tactic. There are plenty of double swims on C Pit for parents and juniors.

D Pit:

Carp up to 49lbs (very low stocking density), No Tench or Bream, Pike up to 20lbs, Roach and Rudd up to 2lbs

D Pit is our only unfenced lake on the complex. There are 11 pegs to fish from.

D Pit is the lake for the serious carp angler and not for the faint hearted, it has a very low stock of old original carp. This lake is roughly 8 acres in size and depths vary from 3ft down to 24ft in places! The margins are deep and snaggy, time spent walking and watching will show you where the carp are hiding!
